Our
Main Barn was completed in December, 2003. We found
the perfect spot on our property for it - on top of
a small hill with a great view of the ranch. The
front of the barn faces South, into the prevailing
breezes. Even in the Texas heat, the barn is well
ventilated and comfortable.

MAIN BARN
From plans by
John Blackburn, architect, Jack Hart and Jeff Ramey
built our spectacular Main Barn. We customized it for the
site and for efficient and safe handling of the horses.
George Salinas rocked the
exterior with stone collected from our land. George also
created the landscaping, with retaining walls, fences,
curbs, and other features made from native materials.
Inside, the details are beautiful as well as practical.
The main aisle is light and airy. The skylight is on the
north side of the building, so it doesn't get the direct,
hot sunlight.
Stall fronts are all steel mesh and allow full view of the
horses and good ventilation. These came from Lucas Equine
Equipment in Lexington, KY.
The floor is rubber brick pavers with a tile border.
The mesh stall fronts allow visibility and ventilation. The
fixture on the dividing wall is a water spigot. Every other
divider has one for easy manual watering. No automatic
waterers here. The stall front design effectively hides the
lights and fans that are on the interior of every stall.
The tack room is functional and beautiful. The window-seats
double as storage, and there is plenty of room for
additional saddle and bridle racks. Also
in the tack room are a sink, refrigerator,
countertop, and additional cabinets.
Features:
12x12 stalls,
Indoor wash stalls and
outdoor wash racks

COVERED EXERCISER / HOT WALKER
WITH ROUND PEN
The round structure is both an exerciser and a covered round
pen. Imported from
Roewer & Rueb, in Germany, the exerciser accommodates
six horses at once. Regular use helps keep our horses fit
and healthy.
