OAKHAVEN PARTNERS LTD. was founded by Debbie & Willy
Graves in 1998.
At that time they were showing
hunters and jumpers nationally
with their
daughters Laura and Amy.
Their focus then shifted to
breeding the finest Holsteiner and Oldenburg horses for
competition and pleasure and in 1999 their first foal crop
arrived.
We start with the highest quality sporthorse mares with
proven athletic ability and wonderful temperaments and match them to
the best international and national stallions. The resulting foals
are raised in a natural herd environment with daily handling. Our
goal is to create exceptional athletes with willing attitudes and
impeccable manners who will be great partners for a few lucky humans
Oakhaven strives to keep their horses at the top
level of health and fitness, both crucial to
achieving the performance needed in competition.
Their primary veterinarian,
Dr. Madalyn Ward,
has helped then to develop a nutritional program, in
addition to routine body work, which keeps their
horses willing to please and enjoying their jobs.
The
Oakhaven Team is sensitive to each horses'
individual dietary needs and a variety of
supplements including
Blue-Green Algae, EquiPride,
Succeed, and
Empower are fed. They have adopted Dr. Ward's
holistic approach to horse care, which stresses good
nutrition and building the horses' natural immune
systems, and the results are incredible!
Oakhaven babies grow up healthy and strong, ready
for the physical demands of being show horses. Once
horses are in training, routine body work (Bowen
treatments, Cranio-Sacral, acupuncture /
acupressure, chiropractic, and massage work) keeps
the horses pain-free and enjoying their jobs.
In
addition to physical health, consideration is
taken with the personalities of each horse when
matching them to a rider and owner. This helps to
achieve a successful partnership between horse and
rider.
