Susan Fuller
Susan began riding at the age of 7 at Bear Creek Riding Stables in south Austin. After taking many lessons, working at barn summer camps and saving her money, she purchased her first horse at the age of 14. She spent most of her teenage summers working at the private barn where her horse was kept and riding any horse available. After showing in the Arabian show circuit for 7 years, she switched to Andalusians in her early twenties. She rode in the Andalusian Nationals in 2004 and placed in the Top 5. Neither discipline, however, could compete with her love of dressage and it's focus on the communication between horse and rider.

While earning her B.A. in History at The University of Texas, Susan furthered her equestrian education with amazing dressage instructors such as Meg Flemming and Nancy Fair. She assisted in the training of several young horses in the Driftwood, TX area while backing and training her own young gelding. After a serious injury to her own horse, she was offered the opportunity to ride and show a phenomenal schoolmaster mare owned and trained by Nancy Fair. She qualified for Region 9 Championships in 2009 at third level and received scores that would contribute to both her Bronze and Silver medals. Continuing her education in dressage will always be a top priority for Susan.

While working with both young and experienced horses, Susan realized the significance of a good foundation of training for any horse, regardless of their future career. She comes to Oakhaven with the goal of allowing each young horse a chance for greatness by giving them a solid foundation of training in dressage.
